There is NO self-righteousness (human effort) involved in salvation... It is the gift of God...
You see, we have no righteousness of our own to offer God... No amount of good can undo the bad we've done... Jesus paid a debt that He did not owe, because we owed a debt that we could not pay... Salvation is receiving, not giving... We are sinners and Jesus is the Savior... Jesus is precious! We are saved only by trusting, not by trying...
Unbelief is the only sin which can keep a sinner out of Heaven...
But remember, faith is not the absence of doubt, but the presence of trust... If you call upon the name of the Lord, to “call” means to place your complete confidence in the Lord to be saved... We are saved by completely resting in the Good News (The Gospel) of Jesus Christ... Just take God at His word and claim His salvation by faith... Believe, and you will be saved... No church, no lodge, no good works can save you... Remember, God does the saving... All of it!
God's simple plan of salvation is: You are a sinner...
Therefore, unless you believe on Jesus Who died in your place, you will spend eternity in Hell... If you believe on Him as your crucified, buried, and risen Savior, you receive forgiveness for all of your sins and His gift of eternal salvation by faith... You say, “Surely, it cannot be that simple!” Yes, that simple. It is scriptural, it is God's plan...
If you've never been saved, then now is the time to believe upon the name of Jesus, the Christ, that your sins will be forgiven forever and you can know that your name is written in Heaven... Salvation is not doing your best, it is having Christ's best put to your account through receiving Him by faith... God will not save anyone who is trying to be saved... He will only save those who are trusting to be saved... Christ died for your sins... You are a sinner by nature and by choice... Jesus took your sins and charged them to His own record... He went to the cross and paid the penalty for your sins...
You are alive to have a relationship with your creator... God's goal throughout the Bible is to restore men to himself and receive glory... He longs for fellowship with us... He loves us! But God's holiness and our sin prevents us from being close to him... So the choice is up to you, to turn from sin and repent and receive Christ... It is difficult, but it's the best choice you can make in your life... God is the most honorable, powerful, committed and faithful person that ever lived and still lives... So to receive the rewards of the Lord, we must renounce sin... Do what is right and just and love and obey the Lord... We must go His way, not our way... We get salvation through Him... So we must follow His instruction to attain blessings and eternal life... We have to surrender our life to the Sovereign Lordship of Jesus Christ.
Everything doesn't happen over night but, when you fellowship and walk with the Lord these are some of the good things God promises that you are bound to see... The following promises go beyond words, you will get to live them out with Jesus... His promises for His children, here are a few: A New Heart... Everlasting Life... Forgiveness... Love... Peace... Safety... Protection... Miracles... Fellowship with You... Suppy all your needs... Be your Companion... Your Brother... Give you strength... Show you Great and Mighty things... Give you Rest... Always be with you... Fulfillment and Satisfaction... Authority through His Word... To Guide and Teach you... Healing... Authority over your enemies... Salvation....
It would be a good idea to listen to some good teaching on the Bible because, the Word of God is food for your spirit... If you decide to go to a church, please be careful not to join one that is dead... A church to stay in is a church that challenges you, where you get conviction for your sin... Because, the Holy Spirit came to convict the world of sin... In God you are to move Glory to Glory, not sit under a dead church that doesn't challenge anything!
Please, try to avoid the people who are "self-righteous", which is a form of pride... The legalists, who boast about "their works" and a church that tries to quickly get you into "street evangelism"... A new believer in Jesus Christ needs to be discipled first... After you experience the miracles of God in your life don't be bothered by people who will want to argue and debate with you, nothing good comes out of it... Just start simple living and loving the Lord, start thanking Him for a good meal!
Do not worry! The Holy Spirit will teach you all things... You may stumble and get in a bad spot, but the Holy Spirit will help you! God will never leave you or forsake you... You don't have to do anything to make God love you more, just love Him back!
You must realize that you are a sinner...
Ask yourself these questions, "Has anything ever been more important to me than God? Have I ever lied? (a lie is a lie, no matter how small you may think it is)... Have I ever stolen? (cheated on a test, took a piece of gum, etc.)... Have I ever hated? (the Bible says it's murder in your heart)... Have I ever lusted? (the Bible says it's adultery in your heart)... Have I taken the Lord's name in vain? (such as "OMG!!!")... Have I dishonored my parents? Have I been jealous of someone else's belongings? The Bible says that we have all sinned, and that if you've broken one commandment, it is the same as breaking all of the commandments (the whole law)... All sin deserves punishment and God is a just God... He should give you what you deserve -- Hell... However, He died for your sins and took your punishment,
so that you can live free forever...
To be saved you simply come to God by faith, as a guilty sinner and BELIEVE the Gospel...
You must know that you are a sinner...
No man ever got saved who didn't know that he is a sinner... Repentance is what you do when you come before God and see yourself as you are and see Him as he is.. Repentance is simply a change of mind, where you admit that you are a sinner totally incapable of saving yourself... Thus, you believe the Gospel (Good News) of the Lord Jesus Christ to be saved...
Perhaps you'd feel comfortable praying a sinner's prayer... It doesn't matter exactly what you pray, because you're saved by BELIEVING, not by praying... But, if you'd like to pray as an expression of your faith, you could pray something like this...
Dear Jesus... I admit that I am a sinner... I am guilty for breaking your holy commandments... I believe that you died on the cross to pay for my sins... Have Mercy on me... Forgive me of my sins and cleanse my spirit and soul... I now believe in You alone, apart from all self-righteous, works and religion as my personal Savior... I Pray this in your mighty name... Amen...
Just as you were born physically to your parents, so you were born spiritually into the family of God when you received Jesus!!!
Again, please understand that we are not saved because we pray a prayer but, because we BELIEVE upon the name of the Lord Jesus Christ... It is certainly appropriate to ask the Lord in prayer to forgive and save us but, it is our faith which prompts us to pray... You could just as easily believe in your heart upon the Lord to be saved... Your relationship with Jesus is a personal one... Confessing with your mouth is important but, Jesus hears even the words your not strong enough to speak...
Likewise, it is not in God's plan of salvation, to require a person to walk down a church isle to be saved... People can be saved right there in their seat... Only God knows how many millions of people have gone to Hell because, they didn't want to walk down a church isle to find out how to be saved... Preachers should always give people a chance to be saved right there in the privacy of their own seat... If they hear the Gospel preached and gladly receive (believe) it, they are saved by faith...

Welcome to the next step... The beginning of life...
The ways of God are so different than the ways of men...
The way up is down... To be filled you must be emptied... To be a ruler you must be a servant... The way to live is to die and the way to die is to live... One main reason for Jesus coming to earth was to die for our sins we could never pay and restore us to God... In all our evils and selfishness, God wants to restore you to himself... Because, He loves you... This is not about what church denomination you are or why people are starving around the world... It has to do with your heart and your relationship to the living God...
Sadly, we are the problem and we always have been...
As much as you may not want to read this, please do, it is necessary...
As lovely as it sounds when a church preaches how God will boost your self-esteem... How He wants to bless you with wealth... How happy God is with your life and how it's your time for a reward... It's not always true... God is first concerned with peoples eternal soul and righteousness... Jesus is Holy and He did not die for our selfish vanity... Many preachers are telling people what they want to hear and this does not lead to Repentance, Salvation, Holy Living or Love for the Lord... Such people claim they know God but, they deny Him by the way they live... If you have not felt an overwhelming conviction of your sins, please first ask God to reveal it to you... If you have not felt a regret, a burden, a guilt or a shame for your sins you will miss one of the most important things...
We have to first realize why we are at a distance from God...
